We’re excited to share that CNHA is part of the Aloha United Way 2022 – 2024 ALICE Initiative Cohort!
As a cohort member, we aim to help raise the household income of families in Hawaiʻi by providing workforce development programs through CNHA’s Hawaiian Trades Academy (HTA). HTA will help through job training, career advancement, and financial education opportunities. CNHA understands the value in community-centered services and the importance of creating equity and access to living wage employment for the advancement of Native Hawaiians and all who call Hawaiʻi home.
Our ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population represents hardworking people we interact with every day, who have a job – or two or three – yet struggle to afford basic necessities to remain stable and self-sufficient. Funding for this cohort is designed to support Hawaiʻi’s ALICE population by building financial stability; increasing savings, and increasing access to safe and affordable housing. This program will offer funding support over three years.
CNHA looks forward to working together with fellow cohort members, and the greater community, to find strategies and solutions to make our communities stronger and more resilient.
